Thermo Scientific™ RadEye™ SX External Scintillation Detector

The RadEye SX is a compact, versatile survey meter designed for use with external scintillator counter tubes. It can handle general count rate, surface contamination, and dose rate measurements. As part of the high-end RadEye family, it’s built to exceed demanding expectations, with a large, clear display that makes all functions and settings easy to access. The display and alarm LED remain visible even when the device is in its transparent case. Settings and data analysis can be managed through optional Windows-based software and a reader device. Internally, it stores the last 1500 mean and maximum count or dose rate values, plus logs of the last 250 alarms, errors, and configuration changes, all accessible via a serial interface.  

It offers multiple operation modes, including a scaler/timer with preset count and time for sample measurements, continuous ratemeter mode for frisker use, and simultaneous α/β and gross/ROI operation with distinct audible alerts for each channel.  

Key features include compatibility with dual phosphor α/β, NaI(Tl), and plastic probes; support for up to 16 selectable probe configurations; easy in-field probe replacement with the push of a button; lightweight design at just 160 g (5.6 oz) with rubber protection; compatibility with traditional probes for one- or two-handed operation; and overall versatile functionality.
